The August 28, 2022, prompt at Carrot Ranch Literary Community gave the prompt RED CONVERTIBLE. In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story exploring RED CONVERTIBLE as an emotion or theme. Following is my #99-word-story.

Just me, Brian and the Boys, drivin’ fast as I can, radio blastin’ all our favorite songs, I’m pickin’ up good vibrations.”

Got the wind in my hair, sun on my face, not a care in the world and warmth of the sun within me tonight.

Maybe we’ll head on down Off the Florida Keys there’s a place called Kokomo.” We’ll have “Fun, Fun, Fun…” livin’ for today, no worries ‘bout tomorrow.

Excerpts from Beach Boys Hits used in this writing are:

  • I Get Around – 1964
  • Good Vibrations – 1966
  • Warmth of the Sun – 1964
  • Kokomo – 1988
  • Fun, Fun, Fun – 1964

The August 22, 2022, prompt at Carrot Ranch Literary Community gave the prompt SHAME. In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story exploring shame as an emotion or theme. Consider how to use shame to drive a cause-and-effect story. How does it impact a character? Is there a change? Go where the prompt leads! Read the writers collection here.
