Grace stepped onto the train platform, her ruffled cotton, dress creased from the journey. She carried a weathered leather suitcase containing her most treasured possessions.  This was her first time in the big city and she hoped to find employment. Spotting the exit she turned and joined the crowd up the stairs to the street.

On the street she was swept up into the mass of workers rushing past. Women dressed in fashionably chic suits and  silk blouses,  and comfortable walking  shoes, men in their tailored suits and starched shirts, hair neatly trimmed and shoes shined.

Grace felt like a country bumpkin in a Foreign land.
