I sit here day after day

Wondering what to write

My mind is so full

Of anger, despair, and hate

I struggle to power the spirit

Within me.

Yet a small spark of faith remains

And prays we can save ourselves

From the evil that stalks us

Threatens our lives

And bares false witness

Portrayed as our savior.
